Wrendale Designs are an award-winning publisher of greeting cards, stationery and giftware featuring the characterful watercolour artwork of artist Hannah Dale. Amongst a love of the outdoors (and the occasional cup of tea) they pride themselves on producing high quality design-led products which often feature added little touches to make them extra special.
Hannah Dale began Wrendale Designs in 2012 on a crowded kitchen table in Melton Ross, Lincolnshire.
Having a pretty eclectic background (studying art at school before reading Zoology at Cambridge University followed by five years as a stockbroker in London), Hannah found herself married to a Lincolnshire farmer with a young baby and a desperation to find an outlet for her artistic roots.
Being a practical sort, she turned her hand to sewing, furnishing the windows of many friends and family with beautiful curtains and blinds, and also making personalised nursery paintings for children which proved very popular.
Inspired by the glorious Lincolnshire countryside, Hannah started to paint hares; loving their expressive faces and wonderful personalities.
After printing these designs as greetings cards based on her own watercolour artwork on a beautifully textured board, she began sharing these with local gift shops and they were an immediate success.
Hannah expanded her repertoire and began painting other animals – the rest as they say is history!

No pointless plastic: They have removed any unnecessary plastic packaging to reduce their impact on the environment. Currently, 97% of their range is packaged completely plastic free.
Eco-friendly product ranges: They are constantly looking for ways to introduce reusable options into their product ranges, such as our water bottles and foldable shopping bags.
Sustainably resourced materials: They use uncoated paper from responsibly managed forests for all their greeting cards and stationery. All their paper-based products and packaging are recyclable, and they are sourcing more recycled materials
Locally sourced products: They try and source their products locally where possible to reduce their carbon footprint - they are proud to say that 88% of their total product offering is made in the UK.
Rewilding: Hannah and Jack, with the help of the Wrendale team, planted 50 acres of native mixed woodland in 2021 on their farm as part of a re-wilding project.
